Task Order Proposal Template
Fast-turnaround response format for IDIQ fair-opportunity competitions
What wins points
Ensures the offer complies with mandatory FAR clauses (e.g., FAR 52.212‑1(f) on timeliness) and structures required task order elements, preventing automatic rejection.
What gets bids disqualified
Late submission, exceeding page limits, missing SAM registration or certifications, and omitted pricing/CLIN details can cause disqualification.
Evaluator's view
First verify compliance with the mandatory FAR clauses and formatting; only then assess technical merit.
Task Order Proposal Template
What this is
A fill‑in‑the‑blank one‑page document that contractors use to draft their response to a task order under an IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) contract. It structures the required sections so the offeror can verify compliance before submission.
When you need it
Used for task orders issued under:
- IDIQ contracts (FAR Subpart 16.5) when a Government agency issues a task order request for proposals (RFP) or requests for quotations (RFQ).
- Any solicitation that mandates a Task Order Response as part of the offer – typically in the “Instructions to Offerors” clause (FAR 52.212‑1(f)).
It is mandatory when the solicitation explicitly requires a task order response submission; optional otherwise.
How to fill it in
- Identify the solicitation details – locate the task order’s solicitation number, period of performance, and applicable sections L & M. (Check the solicitation).
- Compliance checklist – verify each required element against FAR 52.212‑1(f) and Subpart 16.5:
- Offeror name, DUNS, EIN, and SAM registration status (see S20).
- Signature block with authorized official.
- Statement of compliance with the solicitation’s delivery schedule and CLIN pricing format.
- Technical approach – summarize the contractor’s solution in 1‑2 paragraphs; reference the Performance Work Statement (PWS) or Statement of Objectives (SOO) from the solicitation.
- Pricing – list each CLIN with a firm‑fixed price placeholder
[PRICE]. Ensure the total does not exceed any ceiling indicated in the solicitation. - Key personnel – list names and qualifications for lead staff; attach resumes separately.
- Certifications & representations – insert checkboxes for FAR 52.204‑8 (SAM certifications) and any other required clauses.
- Signature block – fill with the contracting officer’s authorized signatory details.
